Have your VIN handy

To find out whether your vehicle is subject to a Hyundai recall, you must first identify its VIN, or Vehicle Identification Number. This is the 17-character alphanumeric code, also known as the manufacturer's serial number, which provides access to information about the vehicle and its unique history. It can be found on a plate located on top of the dashboard, just below the windshield on the driver's side. If it is not located there, on some models it can also be found on the driver's door frame pillar and in various documents such as vehicle registration and insurance.

To find out whether your model is subject to a recall, Hyundai Canada has created an online tool that allows you to check. You must first locate your vehicle's VIN to use it.

Please note that safety recalls issued prior to 1994 are not included, and only vehicles sold at retail in Canada are covered.
